Kirkwall BID's Dog Friendly Day a Huge Hit!

Our very first Dog Friendly Day in Kirkwall was a tail-wagging success! The streets were buzzing with happy paws, smiling faces, and a real sense of community as locals and visitors alike enjoyed a fantastic day out with their four-legged friends.



Shops, cafés, and businesses across Kirkwall threw open their doors to welcome dogs and their owners, offering everything from water bowls and treats to exclusive discounts and dog-friendly experiences. It was lovely to see so many businesses embracing the day, showing just how welcoming and inclusive our town can be for dog owners.

The atmosphere was paws-itively brilliant! From the cutest dachshunds to the fluffiest collies, our streets were full of furry companions enjoying the buzz of the town. It wasn’t just about treats and tail wags - it was a great reminder of the strong bond between local businesses and the community, and how small ideas can create big smiles.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who took part, whether you were a business offering a little extra hospitality, a visitor bringing your dog along, or just someone who came to soak up the cheerful vibe. Events like these show the best of what Kirkwall has to offer: a welcoming, friendly, and fun place for everyone - two-legged and four!
